Hi All,
The United Against Cancer team again take to the English
roads in aid of Cancer Research UK, Macmillan and Mind. This time around
we're cycling from St. James' Park to London, however, there is a
twist!!!
We set off on May 10th on our long journey down south to
England's capital. Our challenge is spread out over 6 days, cycling
approximately 380 miles. 380 miles you ask yourself? surely it's not
that many miles to London?... That's because after our cycle to
Southampton we felt that cycling to London just didn't deserve your hard
earned money to be donated.
So, the route...
Day 1 - Newcastle (SJP) to Thirsk - 65 miles
Day 2 - Thirsk to Thorne - 63 miles
Day 3 - Thorne to Boston (Not USA) - 73 miles
Day 4 - Boston to Cambridge - 67 miles
Day 5 - Cambridge to London (Emirates Stadium) - 60 miles
So,
now the twist... As we felt that cycling to London just didn't live up
to our cycle to Southampton last march we wanted to put some extra miles
on our journey.
On Day six we will start from the Emirates
stadium and cycle round to EVERY premier league football stadium in
London. This adds another 50 miles onto our journey in what can only be
described as manic London traffic. Once we have cycled around each
London premier league stadium we will then head over to the home of
English football Wembley Stadium and cycle up Wembley way under
hopefully a lit up arch.
London stadium route:
Emirates
Stadium (Arsenal) - White Hart Lane (Tottenham Hotspur) - Upton Park
(West Ham United) - Selhurst Park (Crystal Palace) - Stamford Bridge
(Cheslea) - Lostuf Road (QPR) - Wembley Stadium...
The Team:
Kevin Moore - Newcastle United Fan
Thomas Concannon - Newcastle United Fan
Allen O'connell - Newcastle United Fan
Mathew Sammons - Tottenham Hotspur
Unfortunately
this year Thomas has picked up a serious injury ruling him out of the
cycling, however, being a team player, he wanted to be involved and will
be our support vehicle.
Last but not certainly not least, every
single donation means to world to us and we can never thank you enough
for parting with your hard earned money.
Thank you for taking time to read our story,
United Against Cancer Cycling Team
