Story

Feel the fear and do it anyway. The best things come on the other side of fear. As a child I went to Sheaf Valley baths and attempted many times to jump off the top board. I climbed the steps and looked over, felt sick and went back down sooo many times I can't even remember. Once I jumped...that was the last. I hated it and have feared that 'jump' ever since. My grandparents I knew all had cancer. My Dad is a cancer survivor, we all fear cancer. St Lukes is around the corner from where I work and live and where I would hope to be if cancer is my fate. It is the most wonderful place so I want to put my two penn'oth in now while I can. At the same time I hope to inspire my children and others and encourage them to just do it!

About the charity

St Luke’s is an independent charity caring for terminally ill adults and their loved ones across Sheffield. Each year, we care for around 1,900 patients most of whom are cared for in their own home by our Specialist Palliative Care Community team.
