5 Peaks?
Last year Unipart Technology Logistics initiated a yearly charity event challenge to our Managing Director, Claire Walters and her Operating Committee. After many gruelling weeks of training, everyone successfully completed a London to Paris bike ride and raised £23,000 in the process.
This year, in-line with our focus on relentless continual improvement, we’ve increased the challenge. Claire and team will be tackling the Five Peaks Challenge… 5 UTL sites… 5 countries… 5 peaks… 55 hours to do it all in!
For those of you that aren’t familiar with this challenge, it involves ascending and descending the highest peak in England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Northern Ireland, for a total of 5,294 meters of climbing, 1,200 miles on the road with little or no sleep, come rain, shine or indeed darkness as we keep going through the night!
Sounds impossible and painful!?
It is a tough challenge and people are already in training to prepare for the exhaustive climbs ahead... We hope you'll show your support for them and Macmillan by donating as much as you can spare.
We want to help Macmillan Climb Mountains!
Macmillan are a fantastic organisation that improve the lives of people affected by cancer in many different ways. One in three of us have or will be affected so it is easy to see why we, UTL employees voted Macmillan our charity of choice for this years fundraiser.
