Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit UK Embrace's JustGiving Page for Open Palm.

We are holding a festive fundraiser to celebrate the incredible work of Open Palm, a charity committed to empowering young people from marginalised BAME communities. This is done through delivering educational life-skills programmes, improving learning environments and addressing racial inequality.

Open Palm was founded in the Black Lives Matter movement resurgence, following the murder of George Floyd. For further details of the incredible work they do, please visit their website: https://www.openpalm.org.uk/

UK Embrace's Festive Showcase will be a fun opportunity to raise money for Open Palm. We will be holding a silent auction in the run-up to the event and a special raffle. We will also have two incredible live performances by the gospel choir Shekinah and DJ Rashun.K. The in-person event takes place at HSBC's headquarters in Canary Wharf, with drinks and mince pies on offer!

This end of year event will also provide a poignant opportunity to reflect on and celebrate Embrace's achievements in 2021, and to look forward to our focuses in 2022.

All donations will go towards Open Palm, please give as much as you can.

Our mission is simple: to create fairer opportunities for people to thrive, regardless of their ethnic or socio-economic background. We aim to make education more accessible and empower people to succeed regardless of their socio-economic or ethnic background. We do this by delivering 'WYZ', our free educational life-skills programmes to u-18s on the topics of financial literacy and employability, improving learning environments and addressing racial inequality. Our WYZ programmes aim to tackle systemic issues and offer young people a nationally-recognised accreditation. Our employability programme also offers young people work experience opportunities. We also support under-funded schools to help them better meet the needs of their students. In the UK, we are focused on addressing 'digital poverty', so that students have the technology to fully participate in lessons and homework irrespective of their socio-economic background. Thank you for your support!
