Story
This year, PA's Defence & Security GTM are sending three teams to the Lake District to compete in the UK Challenge 2021. This will involve participating in a range of mental and physical team-building challenges, all in support of the fantastic Invictus Games Foundation.
In the run up to the UK Challenge 2021, a number of colleagues from PA are running fundraising activities in order to raise money for its Charity Partner, the Invictus Games Foundation. Any donation is hugely appreciated - thank you! For further information on the UK Challenge, please visit: https://www.ukchallenge.co.uk/uk-challenge-2021/.
In 2008, Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, had just completed his first deployment in Afghanistan. His experiences there with the many wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women had a profound impact and he resolved to do something. The Invictus Games were born. In London 2014, 411 competitors from 13 nations took part in the first Games. Sports recovery is a proven method to accelerate and reinforce rehabilitation and participation in an Invictus Games is transformative for competitors and their friends and family. It supports long-term improvements in physical and mental health, provides opportunities to inspire and motivate others and helps servicemen and women re-engage with their families and their community. We can't help these wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women transform themselves through sport without the incredible generosity of supporters, so huge thanks for helping make this huge difference in their lives.
