Story

My dear friend Jenni Delea, lost her life in November last year following a 3 year battle with cancer. Jenni fought for life, enduring agonising treatment with endless bravery. Jenni took every option available to her in a bid for time. She was gutsy, courageous and had the heart of a lion.

In her memory I’ve set myself a challenge to cycle 1878 miles throughout the month of February, averaging 65 miles each day.

I’m raising money for two charities:

Everton in the Community - Jenni was one of us, a staunch Evertonian and Season Ticket holder in the Upper Gwladys. Not only that, she was passionate about the power of opportunity. Jenni worked for many years at “the mabby’ a youth centre in Liverpool, she challenged the system and fought for what was right and fair. Renowned for taking the most vulnerable under her wing, protecting and championing them, Jenni cared deeply for people and her community.

Cancer Research UK - Jenni fought so hard for life, for time with her family and friends. Cancer Research UK fund scientists and doctors to work on treatments to give more people more time with people they love through cutting edge research, clinical trials and targeted therapy.

If you’re able to support the challenge by donating or sharing I’d be so grateful.

Challenge starts on 1st February… I’ve laughed and I’ve cried when thinking how Jenni would expect nothing less of me, she’s cheered and supported me through everything I’ve ever done, a true friend and truly an incredible person.
