Story
In Ruby's memory, on 18th August 2021, Ruby’s Mum Emma & sister Tabitha are taking on the Tube Challenge - attempting to get through all 270 London Underground stations in a single day. It's possible (the record time is around 16 hours) but requires a lot of careful planning, a very early start and includes running a total of around 10 miles between stations.
Ruby was a HUGE fan of the Underground and dreamt of working for Transport for London one day. She was never happier than having a heated debate about the best way to get from A to B within London.
If you sponsor us a fiver & tell us your favourite station (preferably one not already picked - see updates), we'll send you a photo as we go through it 😊
Ruby died in 2020 of T-cell blood cancer, aged just 18. When she died, our consultant told us that they just haven't figured out how to successfully treat this type of blood cancer when it relapses. Funding for research to find better cures is desperately needed. When Ruby's cancer relapsed, she asked us to raise money to help find better treatment. So we set up a fund in Ruby's memory with Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group. All the money we raise will be used to fund research into kinder and more effective treatments for blood cancer.
Thank you so much for your support. And if you'd like to come and cheer us on (or bring us drinks/snacks during the day) please let us know!
