Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

Thanks for taking time to visit our just giving page...here's our story!

On 11th and 12th May 2019, a team from Truckeast will be pushing ourselves to the very limits by taking on the gruelling three peaks challenge - all within 24 hours.

What's actually involved? Basically, we have to summit three of the highest mountains in the UK. Starting off with Ben Nevis, the tallest of the three at 4,413ft.  We'll then continue down south to the Lake District ready to climb Scafell Pike at 3,210ft.  The final peak, Snowdon, although not the biggest, is renowned for it's extreme weather conditions, so will be a final battle for the team at 3,560ft.

Covering a total of 23 miles hiking and a total ascent of 10,052ft (along with the 462 miles driven), this challenge will test us both physically and mentally! But we believe we can do it!

So why are we doing it?Aside from being able to say we've done it - taking on the three peaks and winning....Truckeast are doing this with the aim of raising vital funds for Sense - a national charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind. Living in a world that can be isolation at times, Sense uses funds, such as those raised from activities like this, to bring a sense of normality to those who live with this everyday.

Training is already underway, so please dig deep and support our challenge!

Thanks, from Team Truckeast.

P.S We'll post progress updates across our social channels so be sure to check out our Facebook and Instagram to see what we are getting up to.
