Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I have left the Target as £0 because any money we raise will be very much welcomed by the children
To have a child of your own to love is special. For that child to love you in return can be breathtakingly beautiful and sometimes painful. We hurt when they hurt and we’d do anything to make their life better.
Hearts can melt for the happiness of a child and break for any child unable to enjoy life to the full - especially so for the disabled and terminally ill child.
I wanted to do something outside of my ‘comfort zone’ which in some small way could be of benefit for children such as these and their families and the 190 mile Coast to Coast walk is what that ‘something’
is going to be.
I will be doing the walk in a number of stages hopefully starting stage 1 from St Bees this month, with the final stage in August.
Factors such as my own health, our grandparenting role and tying it in with my two daughter’s work commitments mean that I would have to do the walk in a number of phases. Even then it would still be impossible for me to walk alone and I am eternally grateful to my sister Carole and brother-in-law Brian for agreeing to walk the full route with me, (Brian’s experience, gained as a military adventure training instructor will be invaluable when it comes to map reading and compass work - thank goodness!!)
I am also just as grateful to the other members of my family, Anji, Richie and Dee, who have said they would join us at various sections throughout the walk.
So this is the challenge in which we hope to raise valuable funds in support of the terrific work of ‘Newlife’. And in particular Emmie and Emilia and other children such as these.
