Blackpool has been in the 10% most deprived authorities since 2000
The 2019, the Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) ranks Blackpool as the most deprived of 317 Local Authorities in England
Neighbourhoods in Blackpool then account for eight of the ten most deprived neighbourhoods nationally
Blackpool itself has nearly 8,000 children living below the poverty line
Blackpool Food Bank has saved 124 tonnes of food going into landfill in 2022 so far, which is the equivalent of nearly 300K meals
We’ve provided over 2,000 crisis food parcels in the first half of this year alone.
In the first quarter of 2022, we saw a 48% increase in the number of food parcels we were giving out
At Blackpool Food Bank, we distribute food to 80 partner organisations across Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre, as well as many other smaller hubs and community groups across Lancashire who handle food as part of the service that they provide, in turn feeding around 7,000 people per month.
