Story
Recently while sitting in the City Hospital with a friend waiting for some radiotherapy I was shocked as I counted around 30 people waiting to be called, with ages from as young as 10 years old to people in their 70’s. As I sat there the thought occurred to me that in reality this could be me waiting to be called as cancer has no respect for age.
After much thought I have decided I would really like to do something to help a little to support a Cancer Charity and after meeting with the various charities I decided I would like to offer some support to Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan work in what I think are such sad cases by bringing comfort and assistance to those that are terminally ill. Even just witnessing the care they gave to a past work colleague of mine was heart melting as he spent his last few weeks before he sadly passed away.

The event I intend to complete on the 3rd April 2016 is called the Cross Florida Challenge in which I will cycle 170 miles from east to west Florida in one day. In doing so I hope to try and raise some funds for the worthwhile cause that Macmillan cancer support carry out on a daily basis. I have a dedicated small team who are providing me with the help, creative ideas and support that I need to try and raise as much funds as possible for this cause. They are providing their services free of charge, and as I will be meeting all of the costs involved in the challenge myself, ALL of the money raised will go to Macmillan – not a single penny will go to my expenses.
