To raise money for Abby’s Heroes, one of Trethowans' nominated charities, Richard Thomas will be running a full marathon; James Kidner will be running a half marathon; and Elizabeth Ryall, Charlotte Everett, Amy Dashwood, Nikki Gowers, Maxine Nutting and Ali Read will be running 10km.

Abby’s Heroes ethos is that they exist because when a child is diagnosed with cancer, they know first-hand the devastating impact of the physical, financial and emotional health and wellbeing of the whole family, both during and after treatment and beyond. Having a child diagnosed with cancer can turn families' lives upside down. The child’s life is completely taken over by the diagnosis and their family’s world is thrown into chaos and panic as they watch their child go through the rigours of treatment and as normal life ceases to exist. Abby’s Heroes supports families of who come under the care of the Piam Brown and the Teenagers and Young Adults wards at Southampton General Hospital with a range of practical measures and programmes to help families on their journey. Their mission is "to offer financial and practical help and importantly, the opportunity to make lasting memories for the children, young adults and their families"

How Abby's Heroes say you can make a difference: 

* £30 could pay for a child to go on a day out or a trip to the theatre

* £100 could pay for the snack box Abby's heroes provide to the Piam Brown ward each month

* £112  could towards a Welfare Pack for families including hospital parking

* £200 could pay for an End of Treatment Award

* £300 could pay for help with the household bills for a family

* £500 could pay towards the mortgage or rent to give a family some financial breathing space
