Trek26 Lake District 2025 - 13 miles · 31 May 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Hi, I’m Donna, and I’m taking on this trek to raise funds for Alzheimer’s in memory of my incredible mum, Barbara, who we sadly lost in 2023. She meant the absolute world to me, and losing her has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced. Mum was always there whenever I needed her—whether it was for support, advice, or just a shoulder to cry on.
She was such a fun, caring woman who had a way of making everyone smile, especially with her storytelling. I’ll always cherish the way she would bring tales like The Battle of Hastings or The Lion and Albert by Marriott Edgar to life. She had a warmth and humor that made her truly unforgettable.
I think about her every single day and carry a piece of her with me wherever I go. She is deeply missed by everyone who had the joy of knowing her.
This trek will take me through beautiful woodlands and lake views, leading up to Helvellyn. I’ll be hiking 13 miles and ascending up to 1,000 feet—all in her memory and to help support those still fighting this cruel disease.
Thank you for your support—it truly means the world. 💜
