Trek26 Brecon Beacons - 13 miles · 8 July 2023 ·

Journey through a spectacular area of wild moorland, tumbling waterfalls and sweeping mountain slopes in the Brecon Beacons. Trek for loved ones, and raise money so together we can find a cure.

Story

Dad/John/Papa/Uncle John is living with Alzheimer's. In July last year he moved into a wonderful care home in Herne Bay called Herne Place. Sadly there is no cure and no real relief for Alzheimer's, and his health continues to deteriorate. Keith and I are taking part in the Alzheimer's Trek26  in Dad's name. All those who know him will remember that he loved walking and had trekked in many mountainous regions around the world. You will also know of his Welsh heritage and his love of Wales, so a trek in the Brecons is a particularly appropriate way of raising money.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. The money raised will go towards enriching the lives of the many who suffer from what is a totally wretched disease.

Thank you for your support.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
