BHF - London to Brighton Bike Ride 2013 · 16 June 2013 ·
On Sunday 16th June at 0700hrs we, Martin and Tracy Field, will be strapping on our cycling helmets and shoes to join thousands in the London to Brighton Bike Ride to help raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
This is the British Heart Foundations flagship fundraising event and is the largest charity Bike Ride in Europe. This 54 mile journey will take us through the bustling capital, through breath-taking country lanes to the finish line at Brighton’s famous seafront.
Tracy explains her reasons behind undertaking this immense challenge: “I feel some connection with the charity having had two uncles (Ian West and Barry Dalton) die at the tender age of just 46 from heart attacks (especially as I will be 45 this year!) and my granddad (Francis Baker) also died from a heart attack in his early 60s. As well as supporting the charity the bike ride will give me and my husband the incentive to get fit (we are now in training and cycling several times a week) and have healthier hearts ourselves! I am sure most people have had some experience of heart disease/conditions affecting either them, a family member or friend and therefore I would be grateful if you could make a donation to support the British Heart Foundation and keep your fingers crossed that we make it!”
