The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

I am taking part in Palace to Palace London supported by Saudi Aramco, on 5th October 2014. I'll be cycling from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle, all in aid of The Prince's Trust. Through the sponsorship I raise I know that I will be helping The Prince’s Trust support disadvantaged young people in the UK.

The Mid Kent Maca’s Team, from MidKent College, is undertaking this challenge in memory of our late Principal, Sue McLeod.

Sue was a passionate advocate for young people and the College and that is why we have chosen to support the Prince’s Trust Charity which helps disadvantaged young people.

Sue passed away on 23 July 2014 after a very short illness with a brain tumour.

After her diagnosis Sue remained determined and extremely positive about her condition and recovery. She faced the challenge strongly and with such a single minded ambition to beat it. Unfortunately Sue took a turn for the worse on 22 July and was taken to hospital where her condition deteriorated and she died the following day.

MKC Chief Executive, Stephen Grix, observed, “Sue was an exceptional leader…her commitment and passion for teaching was what drove her. Her energy, enthusiasm and ability to motivate others will be sorely missed. We have lost a very dear friend and a great principal.”
