Story
Seven years since diagnosis and I'm representing Team GB Again!!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page :-)
I was diagnosed with kidney failure in August 2010, exactly seven years before this event!! At this point I was extremely unwell and would not have been able to enter any sporting event let alone dream about representing my country in Spain!
I was very lucky and had a transplant quickly, the kidney coming from my amazing mum. Since having the gift of life I have vowed to live my life to the full and that included entering the GB Transplant Games for the first time in August 2014.
I was overjoyed with my performance, coming home with one gold, three silvers and one bronze medal; I didn't dream for one moment that I would do so well. Since then I had the privilege of representing Team GB in Argentina during 2015 and secured six medals in swimming events. Three gold, one silver and two bronze.
I have be been selected once again to be part of Team GB which is going to Malaga, Spain in June 2017.
Unfortunately that is no funding available to support the transplant athletes going to the World Transplant Games so we need to raise the funds ourselves, this is where you might be able to help me :-)
Please note that I am raising funds to cover my expenses associated with attending the World Transplant Games in Malaga, Spain. Any surplus will go towards the Transplant Sport UK Management Team (including physios and coaches) who give up their time to support the team.
