Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As a teenager I was diagnosed with Leukaemia and received a hefty dose of chemo and a 'mis-match' bone marrow transplant which was very successful. Apparantly I am the longest surviving 'mis-match' transplant patient in the world so I consider myself very lucky. That was 31 years ago! Many people have not been so lucky and many lives are cut short as the medical world still struggles to understand this condition.
So to give a little something back and in memory of all those not as fortunate as myself I am running the London Marathon to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
This will be my FIRST and possibly my LAST full marathon as back problems are threatening to put an end to my running career so this will be an ULTRA challenge for me physically!
The other ultra challenge of course is to reach the £2000 rundraising tartget so all donations are very gratefully received! Don't forget you get to watch me hobble over the finish line in return!!!
