After my eyesight started to fail and before I was given the gift of a Guide Dog in 2012, I struggled to get out on my own. Life was very difficult, and I felt trapped in my own home, and very down in the dumps.
Almost as soon as I was given the wonderful gift of Guide Dog Oakley, my life was transformed. I was able to go out independently with confidence, and life became worth living again. I am now enjoying life on a narrowboat with my husband - something I could not have done without Oakley.
We cannot begin to afford to repay Guide Dogs financially. I wish to show my gratitude to Guide Dogs UK by walking from Bath to their head quarters in Reading along the Kennet & Avon Canal, to raise money and awareness for this amazing life-changing organisation. This walk will begin on Saturday 4 July 2015 in Bath and, over the course of approximately 3 weeks, I will be joining with several local Guide Dog branches along the way to maximise the potential of this venture.
