Story
The Topé Project is named after a 23-year-old care leaver who took his own life in 2010. His death had a profound impact on the young people who knew him, and after this tragic event, the group came together to look out for and support one another. Each year since, the group has come together during the holidays for a Christmas celebration.
Many care leavers dread Christmas and find it an isolating time. They are not in touch with their previous foster family and spend the day alone in independent accommodation.
In memory of Topé, this Christmas Day will see 70 young people spending the day with us; socialising, playing games, eating and sharing their pain while promoting positivity.
"Thank you for giving a bit of hope on a terrible year. You are all amazing people. Thanks for making today a day to remember. x x x"
The fantastic folks at St Peters host our JustGiving page. Rest assured that everything donated through this page will go straight to ensuring our Christmas Day party is a roaring success.
