I've not been on a bicycle since I was a child, and am now fast approaching the big Five 0 (50 years of age). I have a good lifestyle but I thought it was time to put a bit back and was astounded to hear that the life expectancy of an African child born to literate parents is doubled over that of a child born to illiterate parents. Thats why I am doing this challenge in cycling 500km across rural Zambia.
