Story
As I am 50 this August I decided to undertake the ‘Wales End to End’ charity cycle ride. It is a three day cycle ride which according to the organisers is classified as ‘Extreme’.
Macmillan Cancer Support is the chosen charity. The reason behind this is that a family member a few years ago was seriously ill and underwent treatment at a Macmillan centre. The staff in no uncertain words were angels and helped them and the family through a very difficult time. I cannot put into words what I felt with the help they provided, and it is for this reason I was determined to spend my 50th birthday on an extreme cycle ride to raise money to repay the kindness and generosity their staff showed.
You will all be pleased to know that reading the ride details, the hardest day is actually on my birthday! 106 miles with 12,387 ft of climbs!!!
Instead of asking for lots of money (which is difficult these days) I only ask if you can donate the cost of what you would spend on 1 cup of coffee per day for the 3 days.
So if you want to see me suffer big time on my 50th birthday, walk like John Wayne and help Macmillan Cancer Support in the invaluable work that they do, then please sponsor me!
Thank you in advance!
