Story
My Wife Jenny was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in 2014, after surgery and radiotherapy the cancer returned in 2018 and was classed as terminal. At this stage we were introduced to Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare, where she received the absolute best care and consideration for her condition. Until, sadly on January 18th 2020 Jenny passed away.
The nurses involved with the Hospice are angels in uniform and nothing was too much trouble for them, they even turned up in their own time to make sure she was comfortable. With this in mind we feel like we wanted to give something back to them, so they can continue their great work.
Myself Jenny's husband and son Pete have set ourselves a challenge! Our plan is to raise this money by taking part in a sponsored Vintage ride using roads as near as possible to the south-west coastal roads of Devon and a round trip that will be approx. 500 miles starting at the Hospiscare Centre in Exmouth. We will ride on our 1950 BSA Bantam 150cc and a 1964 AJS Model 14 250cc.
This ride was due to take place on the weekend of the 27-28th June 2020, which would have been the weekend of Jenny's 78th birthday. Unfortunately due to the current situation that we all find ourselves in our planned ride for this year has been postponed to 26th/27th June 2021.
We really appreciate your support in helping this wonderful charity.
