Story
During my final term at Maidwell Hall 13 friends and I are going climbing in Snowdonia for four days from 4-7 June. Our challenge is to climb eight mountains over 300ft - including Mt Snowdon a distance of 30 miles in total.
Because there will be no backup , we will be carrying everything we need on our backs - including 2 litres of water, food for four days , tents and sleeping bags. Fully loaded , our rucksacks will weigh 40 pounds (which is quite a lot for adults - let alone 12 and 13 year olds!)
We are raising money for a charity called Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation (JDRF). We have chosen it because our friend Felix Holland-Bosworth - who is head boy of Maidwell - has type 1 DIABETES , for which JDRF is determinedly seeking a cure.
