Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. In September, I will be completing the London to Brighton bike ride in honour of my dad.
Unfortunately, as many of you are aware, we lost my dad nearly two years ago to mesothelioma. This is a very aggressive form of cancer caused by asbestos. It was only 20 days between him being diagnosed and subsequently passing away at St. Wilfrid's hospice in Eastbourne - where he was provided with amazing care and made to feel as comfortable as possible.
Mesothelioma can lay dormant for 30-40 years before you start to show any symptoms, which means that it is often too late for any treatment to be done when the symptoms begin to show. Currently there is no cure and there is limited research into the cancer. I am hoping to raise as much as possible to help support the teams carrying out this research, in the hope that one day there will be a cure.
Any contribution would be greatly appreciated. If anyone wants to join me and help raise even more, please get in touch with me and I will give you the details.
Thanks,
Tom :)
