Story
Hi, on the 21st April 2024 i’m attempting the world famous London Marathon.
A marathon is 26.2 miles or 42.2km long or 114.7 laps of a football pitch.
I’ve teamed up with Kidney Wales this year to help raise awareness and funds for the amazing work that they undertake each day to help patients and families, that are living with new and existing Kidney conditions.
Why a marathon ? From a young age, I can recall watching the London Marathon on TV and being fascinated at all walks of life attempting the iconic 26.2 miles.
As someone who thrives on a challenge, and after the back of running a half marathon in early 2023, I knew this was an opportunity that I had to aim for. There was only one charity I wanted to contact to make this a reality.
Why Kidney Wales ?
Here goes! My late Grandfather was receiving treatment for Kidney failure for 4 years up until he sadly passed away in 2016.
My Grandfather was a huge part of my life, he was an inspirational figure that taught me some incredible advice that I still use daily. I owe all of this process to him.
Kidney disease is something which affects 3.5 million people each year in the Uk. And, over 68,000 people receiving treatment for Kidney failure via Dialysis.
Kidney wales is a fantastic charity that develops and researches new programmes for the benefit of kidney patients in the Welsh community and supports patients and families through the process of receiving treatments.
Without the help of Kindey wales, our mission to complete the London Marathon would not of been possible. I’m extremely grateful to have this opportunity.
Thank you , let’s do this !!!
