Story
On a drunken night out with colleagues at the end of 2015, we were discussing Charity Challenges we had done in the past and the desire to do a new one for various reasons.
As cycling seems to be the new trend, and we liked speed, Leicester to Lands End was born.
333 miles in 3 days from the middle of the country to the last piece of land before the America's seemed like a suitable challenging challenge, that was difficult but not impossible.
We had each cycled 20-30 miles before but never 300+.
The opportunity to raise significant amounts of money for charities we believed in as well as having some "fun" along the way with a group of colleagues - like minded nutters seemed like to good to pass.
Why Cancer Research - for me Cancer is the plague of the 21st century is takes just as many people in their prime as it does old age and it has personally effected me and my family. I had a Basel Cell Carcinoma removed a few years ago, which is no issue, but far more seriously my wifes "baby group" of 9 has lost two mothers of young children to cancer both of whom were in their mid 30's. So unfair and so devastating for the families.
With money to fund research one day we will cure all cancers. So please donate generously.
