Story
I'd really appreciate your sponsorship as I and a group of others tackle the gruelling Yeldall Manor Walk for Freedom (Notting Hilll tube to Wargrave)! Yeldall offers hope to guys who may think there is none available, these men have drug and alcohol problems and lives that have been turned seriously upside down. It is close to my heart after witnessing first hand the unique and amazing work Yeldall do with men from all kinds of backgrounds.
What is the Walk for Freedom?
A 31.8 mile sponsored walk from Notting Hill Gate tube station to Yeldall Manor on the Saturday 27th April 2013.
Why Notting Hill Gate tube to Yeldall?
It was on a tube train pulling out of Notting Hill Gate that Bill and Joanie Yoder (Yeldall’s founders) had their first encounter with a drug addict, a man named Derek, in desperate need of help. From there they began to help bring men out of central London to rural Berkshire to a peaceful and secure place where they could offer these men care, healing, wholeness and hope.
Why?
To raise money for Good Samaritan Bursary Fund – a fund which enables men who want to go to Yeldall, but cannot otherwise get funding, come to a place where they have the chance to find freedom from addiction and the hope that comes from Christ.
