The Challenge

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We're participating in Ride London on Sunday 10 August. This is a 100 mile cycling sportive from the Olympic Park, via much of the Olympic road race route including Box Hill, and finishing on The Mall in central London.

The charity

We're raising money for Momentum, a SW London charity that looks after and supports children diagnosed with cancer and other life threatening illnesses. As well as day to day pastoral care, the charity has undertaken a number of projects in local hospitals focused on changing the environment in which kids receive treatment and spend time in isolation. They also provide trips and experiences for families to be families during long periods of treatment.

The competition

To provide some encouragement we're holding a sweepstake to guess the combined time for the ride. When we entered in January, one of us estimated 6 hours 30 minutes, the other, 7 hours. Since then there's been some training, but its fair to say, some slacking as well ! Just put your time estimate (total for both of us) to the nearest minute in the comments. The prize will be champagne - if we raise less than £500 then just one bottle, but for each £400 or part above £500 then we'll add another bottle up to a 6 bottle case.
