Story
Ladies & Gentleman,
On the 13th July I will be jumping from 14,000 feet with the Red Devils in Netheravon with a team of 30 colleagues for Quintessentially Foundation.
My initial thought of this'll be a laugh has now turned to sheer terror. However, it seems to very much be happening (against my mum's best wishes) and I have come to the following conclusions:
a) It is in the best interest of the person I am strapped to that we land safely
b) The thought of returning to work having chickened out is far worse than jumping out the plane.
c) I'll look great in a jumpsuit.
...BUT more importantly than all of that, it’s for a really great cause…
Quintessentially Foundation supports several charities, although the one that really caught my eye is Place2Be. It’s a charity that supports school children with various mental health and emotional issues, often who are victims of phyiscal abuse. For a better insight into the type of children they help, watch this video - http://youtu.be/xMMFkX7iZfA Hopefully some of the work they do can help make these kids look as happy & cool as I do in the photo on this page.
Quintessentially Foundation will also be donating proceeds to the following three charities: SOS Children, Room to Read and The House of St. Barnabas.
Hopefully between the 30 of us we can raise a really good amount.
So, dig deep into your pockets and dig me deeper into this hole I am in...
Thanks
Tom
PS…Incase you were wondering…donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
