We are both taking part in the "Pedals & Paddles 2012 Glaze Challenge" alongside 50 other ‘athletes (ish)’.
The Challenge:- Cycling & Canoeing Across 150 Miles of Rugged Terrain!!
Friday 6th July - We will set out from Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham and will cycle across the border, then over the mountain ranges of Malvern for an overnight stay in Monmouth.
Saturday 7th July will consist of more cycling around Monmouth/Ross -on-Wye and also canoeing the River Wye
Sunday 8th July will see us setting off from Monmouth and heading towards the lower Beacons, before trawling the Welsh valleys and coming to rest at Pyle near Bridgend.
GLAZE Prostate Charity, Wales is the leading charity in the Principality working with medical professionals in the fight against all prostate diseases, benign and malignant. Its mission is to raise awareness, promote understanding and fund both the latest medical equipment and the training of healthcare professionals.
GLAZE has been significant in funding the centre of excellence for Green Light Laser treatment at the Princess of Wales Hospital Bridgend, which is now an eminent teaching unit Headed by Andy Thomas. The aim for GLAZE today is to raise funds to facilitate the continuity of the Green Light Laser treatment and to sustain the quality of the equipment and the necessary consumables for the future in the Princess of Wales Hospital, treatment centre.
