Story
Throughout the Corona Virus Pandemic our grassroots music venues have been in desperate need of funding to stay open. While some have received funding from the Arts Council many are in a situation where they have not received funding either because they applied but were not awarded it, or they were not deemed eligible to apply for the funding. Even some who have received funding have not received enough to see them through the current crisis. Music Venue Trust is a charitable organisation which helps these music venues and the people who work in them by distributing the donations through those who need it most at the time. The music industry and these venues support thousands of jobs, from the immediate staff to the artists who play there, the sound and lighting technicians, the promotors and agents and many more. Without them many will be left without work in a career they have dedicated their lives to, and our music industry will suffer. I set up a project called Virtual Venues to try to help these music venues raise extra money through their donation pages. We are releasing a song in support of our music industry and to help raise money to keep them afloat and running various fundraising projects.
