Over 58,000 people will be diagnosed with prostate, testicular or penile cancer every year in the UK. Orchid exists to save lives from testicular, prostate and penile cancers through a range of support services, pioneering research and promoting awareness.

Story

My grandfather, Cecil Minter, helped my mother raise me and my older brother from a very young age. My mother was a midwife and had to work night shifts so more often than not we stayed with our grandfather and grand mother. My grandfather was a spectacular man, full of boundless energy, so kind, caring and giving.

On March 22 of this year, after fighting prostate cancer for two years, he finally succumbed to the disease and passed away in his sleep with all of his children around him. His passing has left a massive hole in not only my life, but in Felicity, his wife of 65 years and the rest of the family.

It is with so much pride and honor that I get to run the 2014 London Marathon for my granddad and raise money for Orchid to raise awareness of this disease.
