We provide care and support to individuals and families affected by EB

Story

I have work with a young man called Mason for 13 years, who suffers from EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa). People who know me, will know I like a challenge, I have done a few walking challenges in the past (Great Wall China, Inca Trail, Africa to find the mountain Gorillas), but believe me this is going to be a challenge like no other I’ve done before. But even though this challenge will be tough, it is Nothing like the Challenge Mason deals with on a daily bases living with EB. People who have EB, can suffer blistering internal/externally, and this can be all over their bodies. Hopefully I won’t get any or very few blisters on my personal challenge, but if I do, the vision of Mason’s feet will push me on. If Mason can walk daily with blisters that never heal, then I can suffer a few, for a short period, knowing mine will heal. Warning!!  Some people might find photos I’ve attached of Mason’s feet upsetting/distressing, but sometimes we need to see the reality of the suffering of conditions like EB........DEBRA is the national charity supporting those directly affected by, and working with, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a potentially fatal skin condition that causes constant pain due to unstoppable internal and external blistering. DEBRA provides lifelong care and support to the entire EB community.Together we #FightEB and together we will beat EB.
