Story
We are off to walk the ancient Way of Saint James.
This is a pilgrimage route from the south of France across the north of Spain to Santiago de Compostela – a distance of about 500 miles.
We start our amazing journey on 27th August at Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port with a walk through the Pyrenees and plan to take 5 weeks to reach our destination.
On the Way we will have the opportunity to visit some of the most impressive cathedrals in Spain as well as plenty of wee villages we haven’t even heard of yet. We will ‘foot it out together’ alongside companions from all over the world and enjoy the hospitality of folks who welcome walkers to their homeland.
We have packed plenty paracetamol, plasters and positivity as well as a sense of humour and a huge treasure trove of songs so we are ready for the road.
Please remember us in your prayers as they will support us on the Way.
We are dedicating our efforts to the charity “Classrooms for Malawi” whose aim is to provide young people in Malawi with the opportunity to attend school in a safe, clean and friendly learning environment. They construct and repair educational facilities in areas of highest need in collaboration with local communities. Currently nearly all schools in rural Malawi carry out most of their learning outdoors and 41,000 new classrooms are required to enable the children to learn inside. Education is the most effective and sustainable route out of poverty.
If you are able to provide “Classrooms for Malawi” with some financial support that would be very much appreciated. Many thanks.
