Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Leah Beth Reek was tragically killed in an explosion and fire
that occurred on Sunday 25th February 2018 alongside Shane, Sean and Mary Ragoobeer. She was an amazing young woman who would have made a difference in this world, she was a positive, kind, beautiful human being who was cruelly taken for no reason other than greed.
It’s difficult to explain to people that didn’t know her just how exceptional she was. Whilst she loved to party like any other teenager (and get her leopard print on!) she also had a side to her personality unlike most typical teenagers, she had a knack of reaching out to people if she saw them struggling or alone. Leah was caring and compassionate and was wise beyond her years. She volunteered at LOROS, which made her determined to become a Palliative Care Nurse and received an unconditional offer to study Nursing at University.
We want to continue creating better lives for children in Leah’s name and have chosen to carry on our support for the Rosie May Foundation and their Hope project in Sri Lanka. Last year we raised over £4000 to provide Leah’s Tuk Tuk to a single mum in order that she can support her own family and prevent her children going into an orphanage. This year we want to raise funds to support the children within the orphanage and our target is £1000.
Following on from our Peaks District Ultra
Challenge last year we are going for another 100K around the Isle of Wight and aiming for 26 hour completion. We would be very humbled if you could donate to this amazing cause and in memory
of a beautiful, smiley kind young woman that was cruelly taken too soon.
Thank you
