Story

The Great East Anglian Run – Sunday 5 May

Thompson & Morgan have entered a team into the Great East Anglian Run (GEAR) which takes place this Sunday, 5th May in Kings Lynn. Those members taking part have decided to use the event as an opportunity to raise money for the GreenFingers Childrens Charity that the company regularly supports.

Staff members taken part are: Craig Simpson; Jonathan Howlett; Louise Girling; Mark Tibbenham; Martin Fox; Paul Hansord; Paul Sauntson; Sarah Curtis

GEAR is an exact 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) and is a one lap course around the centre of King’s Lynn. The course is on paths and roads, flat and fast, starting and finishing in the town’s historic Tuesday Market Place.

I also understand that we have a rivalry at interest with the Delamore Plants team, who for those of you who do not know, Delamore are a large supplier of some of the plants that we sell to our customers.

To help spur us on, beat Delamore, and drag ourselves over the finish line (yes we are all amateur runners), we would very much appreciate any donation that you may wish to make to the our Just Giving page, which in turn, will be donated through the website directly to GreenFingers.

If you do wish to make a donation, please either use the link below which goes to our Just Giving page (setup by James Edmunds) or complete your name, address and sponsor amount on one of the sponsor forms available on the T&M notice boards by the end of this week.

We all thank you in advance for any money raised, and hope to survive the run, in order to return back to work some day....

As a little background to Greenfingers, since launching the charity, they have designed and delivered 39 hospice gardens and are dedicated to creating further beautiful and inspiring outdoors spaces for children with life-limiting conditions to enjoy with family, friends and siblings, whether through play and fun, or therapeutic rest and relaxation. The charity is driven by the belief that time spent outdoors, away from the bedside, can offer children and families under considerable stress a vital opportunity to embrace the benefits of being in the fresh air and engaging with the natural environment.
