Story
This October we are running the London Marathon for Action for M.E.
Action for M.E. is the leading charity in the UK working to end the ignorance, injustice and neglect faced by people with M.E. (or chronic fatigue syndrome.) This little known disease causes extreme tiredness and fatigue, drastically impairing individuals' ability to function on a daily basis, and yet the causes are poorly understood and awareness of the disease is low.
We have both experienced the bewildering effects of M.E. first-hand either having suffered from M.E. ourselves or seeing close family members suffer.
Action for M.E. funds important research into the causes and potential cures, whilst also offering specialist support to those suffering from M.E. This is crucial when awareness of M.E is so low and specialist support may not be available elsewhere.
This is why we are determined to fund-raise for action for M.E. We originally planned to run in April 2020 but the marathon was delayed until this October. However, we don't want this setback to prevent us from raising vital funds, even if it means training for the marathon twice.
We have an ambitious fund-raising goal of £3,200 but are committed to reaching our target to help fund vital research into a little known and poorly understood disease. This fundraising is especially important as fundraising activities have been severely impacted by Covid-19 over the last year.
Thank you for your support and stay tuned to hear the story progress.
