Story

  • RAFFLE NOW CLOSED!

Tonic Music For Mental Health are delighted to announce the raffle of a sign drumskin which has been kindly donated by 'The Specials' from their 2019 tour.

Each £5 donation will entitle you to one virtual raffle ticket and the raffle item is 'The Specials' used drumskin, a 37cm Remo Ambassador Coated made in the USA.

The 8 authentic signatures on the drumskin are: Terry Hall, Lynval Golding, Horace Panter, Kenrick Rowe, Steve Cradock, Nikolaj Torp Larson, Tim Smart & Pablo Mendelssohn.

Terry Hall is Tonic's patron & Lynval Golding is Tonic's ambassador

2019 was a memorable and busy year for The Specials (and Tonic!) with the release of their first album of new material in 38 yrs which reached number one in the charts.

An intimate gig took place at the 100 club to mark the new album release. The proceeds from this gig were generously donated by The Specials to Tonic and from this amazing gesture, the 'Tonic Ska Choir' was formed.

The Specials went on to complete a 65 date tour across Europe, USA & Canada. This included four sell out nights at Coventry Cathedral in a truly beautiful & iconic setting.

Tonic were fortunate enough to be able to attend many of the UK dates and host a table with Tonic information, for anyone to take and find out more about the valuable work  and services available.

It is from the Liverpool gig of this tour that The Specials Kindly donated the drumskin that is now being raffled to our new initiative 'Tonic Rider'.

The Tonic Rider campaign supports live music venues across the UK by raising awareness of suicide and mental health issues within the music industry. The campaign is designed for artists, roadies, managers, promoters, sound crews, production crews and everyone in between. Tonics aim is to target green rooms and venues across the UK, and to include the Tonic Rider on all rider lists, wall posters & digital information. The Tonic Rider provides information on coping strategies, anxiety, depression, performance anxiety and post-show blues, along with signposting to services that can help in a crisis. By supporting the Tonic Rider campaign, you will be joining Tonic on their mission to raise suicide & mental health awareness, challenge stigma and promote mental wellbeing through music and the arts.
