The Royal Lancers Abseil 'The Big One'
A team of serving soldiers from The Royal Lancers will abseil down ‘The Big One’, a 65m (235ft) high rollercoaster, in Blackpool on 8 June 2015 alongside soldiers who have been seriously wounded on recent operations.
The team will be required to climb the 420 steps to the top of the lift hill which looks out across Blackpool and the Irish Sea before being harnessed up and descending back to earth.
The team consists of serving members of
the regiment as well as soldiers seriously wounded on operations in . They aim to raise £5,000 for the Army
Benevolent Fund, which gives lifetime support to serving and retired soldiers and their families.
