We are a group of ladies (and three daughters/ step-daughters) from South Cheshire and Staffordshire. All of us have been affected by cancer - either by loss of a loved one, supporting others as they go through treatment or having treatment ourselves.
Last year 6 of us did the Pretty Muddy 5km and had a really great - if very muddy - experience! We raised over £1000 for Cancer Research UK and we would love to beat that this year. If we get over this target we may even post the (rather embarrassing) video from last year!!! Thank you to everyone who sponsored us - your support got us round a very steep and challenging course on a very rainy and cold day.
So this year we have enlisted more help and at the last count there are 16 of us participating. Oh and did we mention we are dressing up - as pink musketeers - or as we prefer to call ourselves - the Pink Mudketeers! (See what we did there?) We will be wearing cloaks, hats, swords, beards, wigs and tashes. In honour of one of my favourite ever programmes on TV - BBC's The Musketeers - it has got me through some very difficult times personally over the last couple of years.
Costume design and planning have started in earnest. If we feel really creative we might even manage a few horses. Now getting them over the obstacles could be interesting!
So yes we know we are a bit crazy but we love the challenge and it would be fabulous if you could dig deep and help us and our costumes and props to get round the course this year and raise lots of money for a very good cause.
