Story
Hot on the heels of the Marathon runners, Food Logistics will be fielding a team in another charity endurance event - this time involving bicycles, 400 miles and 24 hours.......
What started as a Top Gear style "how hard can it be" moment has turned into a realisation that this is happening and we need to turn 200 miles a week commuting to work in to 400 miles in a day.
The best way to think about the challenge is not as a marathon but a 60 minute 10k run. Six times. In 24 hours. Each. All the while competing against our erstwhile colleagues up to maintain the dignity of Food Logistics.
In context we will each have to cycle from Waterside to Faversham Depot and back before lunch
Whilst we have become pretty good at moving Percy Pigs from A-B it is becoming clear that moving ourselves from A-B at pace is more challenging. Big Kev has not got a bike. Lee-Roy's bag is an embarrassment, Jim is....well Jim and Foordy is in denial.
It is for a great cause and over the following weeks we will be unashamedly approaching you for your money in excange for moderate humiliation, but in the mean time, please take some time to visit our charity's website and make a donation. There are lots of ways to give - even a small donation will be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Kevin, Dave, Leigh and Chris.
