Story

Deborah is taking on a challenge to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity (The Jon Brookes Fund) by skydiving with her Mom in October 2014.

I am taking on this challenge and hope that you will help by sponsoring me with any amount you can afford which will be gratefully received as all money raised will go into research/treatments for people affected by Brain Tumours.

The Facts:-

- Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of the under 40s

- Every day 25 people are diagnosed with a primary brain tumour

- Less than 2% of research in to cancer is spent on brain tumour research

- 100% of funds donated to The Jon Brookes Fund are spent on research in to high grade tumours.

My Story…

In 2010 my husband (Jon Brookes) was diagnosed with a rare high grade malignant brain tumour.

Jon was an inspiration throughout his three year battle, keeping faith in the medics & the treatments & never giving up hope.

At the time we knew current treatment for brain tumours was limited, and in August 2013 (aged 44) Jon passed away, leaving myself and his 3 young daughters behind.

Effort by friends, family & others  following Jon’s death to raise money & awareness for The Brain Tumour Charity have been amazing.

Jon lives on in me, and I know this is what he would want in giving hope to others.

So please help me by donating as much as you can.

Onward & Up.

Deborah
