Story
As part of Leicester City Football Club's 125th year, the decision was taken to sponsor the local charity LOROS for a season by putting their logo on the away shirt where a commercial sponsor would usually be. Staff within the club (including manager Nigel Pearson) have done their bit by going on a cycle ride during an international break and the club are also designating a LOROS fixture to raise money for them. However, we wondered if there was anything the fans could do as well. We decided to climb Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis.
On Friday, 30th April, we did it! The group of 10 inexperienced hikers off the BBC 606 Leicester City messageboard reached the summit. It was certainly tough - exhausting at times - but we all feel delighted at having completed the challenge successfully. The views that appeared from the top were stunning, and we were all so privileged and fortunate to see them.
Massive thanks to everyone who has given us and LOROS a donation over this site - It really is greatly appreciated. However, the sponsorship drive isn't over just yet: Everyone else is both welcomed and encourage to help us by donating to LOROS through this site now - It's a great cause and will help us do both them and Leicester City proud.
