Story
As some of you know Rachel works for Young Lives vs Cancer and has seen first hand how devastating it is for families when the doctor says their child or teenager has cancer. YLvC is there for families throughout treatment and beyond, supporting families financially, practically and psychologically. 12 children or young people will hear the news they have cancer today, childhood cancer isn't rare, but it is devastating.
We've been running as a group for a while with our gorgeous friend Caroline who in 2019 was diagnosed with a stage 4 Giloblastoma. Caroline has continued to run throughout her treatment and has encouraged us all to run with her. We've all first hand witnessed how devastating cancer is.
That's why we're taking on the challenge to run a half marathon. It's time to push ourselves and run further to support young cancer patients who everyday face unimaginable challenges.
Young Lives vs Cancer are completely voluntary funded so every penny of your donation is so vital to keep services running. The impact of their support is massive, there with families every step of the way, navigating whatever cancer throws are them, helping young cancer patients thrive not just survive. And in the heartbreaking case that a child or young person dies, we support families in their bereavement.
If you could help us SMASH our target we'd be grateful for the support,
Deborah, Sally & Rachel
