Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
At 50 (2016) I started the journey to take on my toughest adventure yet .My challenge was to undertake THREE OF EUROPES MOST ICONIC SWIMS in the memory of a lifelong friend, & my Captain for many years, that sadly died too young in January 2016. This is a huge challenge which includes swimming the English Channel as well as swimming between three Continents (Europe, Africa and Asia). I completed the first two challenges ,swimming the Gibraltar Strait and the English Channel in the Summer of 2016 and will be attempting the final of the three swims on 23rd July 2017 by swimming from Europe to Asia across the Bosphous
The charity benefitting from these swims is the British Heart Foundation. It will require the support of many people and I hope you will choose to support me.
Early in 2016 Mark (Sheppy) ,a friend & mentor, tragically died of a heart condition. He was my Captain as we played Water Polo together for a number of successful teams for over 20 years growing up together. He was also there for advice during my original Channel swim in 2007. A leader in & out of the water who not only had a passion for a full life he also had a love and talent for swimming & he will be with me throughout the swims.
This series of swims has presented many tests to be overcome but to have the opportunity to undertake such an incredible challenge is a dream come true and one I am determined to take in the experience. I would love your support.
