Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. 

Please help us to make our first fundraiser of the year 'Challenge Accepted' a huge success!

Staff and Students have been invited to choose their own challenge and adapt it so it can be achieved at home or locally within a 30 day time period. 

Here are some of the great ideas -

Squirrles students and staff -  completing laps of the school field to cover the distance of walking from Scarborough to Whitby - 19.3 miles!

Hedgehogs students and staff - walking the circumference of Scarborough - at home and on the school track 28.5.

Beech students and staff - jumping the Empire State Building - on the trampette/ground - 2652 jumps.

Kestrels students will be  counting how many times they can climb the equivalent of the 199 steps up to Whitby Abbey.

Magpies students and staff - walking 181 miles the equivalent of walking to Newcastle and back (181 - their ages combined).

Willow staff will be walking/running 200 miles - the equivalent of Coast to Coast Robin Hoods Bay to St Bees.

Billy one of our students in Willow class will be cycling 38 miles on an exercise bike  the equivalent of cycling Bridlington to Scarborough and back!

Mrs Hockham, headteacher, will be walking 1 hour per day for 27 days to cover the distance of Pickering to Lincoln!

Miss Loftus will by walking 90 miles the equivalent of walking Scarborough to Settle!

Mrs Lenton will be climbing Ben Nevis - 587 flights of stairs (8810 steps) - at home up the stairs 20 times per day for 30 days!

Miss Caton will be running the Bronte Way - 44 miles - locally over 30 days

Miss Hampshire -  300,000 steps over 30 days - walking locally

Mr Oliver - walking & running Coast to Coast  97.2 miles (Workington to South Shields) - over 30 days

Mr Lenton - will be cycling 1 stage of last years Tour De Yorkshire

Mr Rogers, Miss Jordan & Mrs Morland - 321 miles between the three of them - 321 miles = 1 mile for each day since the start of the first lockdown and the end of Challenge Accepted.

About the charity

The Woodlands Academy is a special needs school for pupils aged 2-16 with a wide range of needs. We adopt a 'holistic approach' focusing on the development of the 'whole child' using a personalised, pupil centered curriculum.
