Story

Steph has talked me in to doing the London Marathon again because she “didn’t enjoy running the first one!”

So we decided to join the ballot whilst at the same time wondering whether we might be able to make a difference to someone by raising money for charity again. (In 2017 we raised over eleven thousand pounds for Brain Research Trust)

My daughters school friend was diagnosed with leukaemia at the start of their year 6. My heart goes out to the whole family and their amazing strength to get through the last year. I have just been on the side line watching and hearing about her progress and having a daughter the same age really brought it home. It can happen to anyone and it’s so unfair.
So, Children with Cancer UK leapt out at us. If we can help make a difference to children with cancer and their families it would be an honour.

Now Steph and I need to start training again! We are running the Great South run in October so that should be a good start.

To help raise money, we are organising a Valentine Charity Dinner on Saturday 2nd February 2019 in Cheshire (let me know if you would like tickets)

We have plenty other fundraising ideas so we’ll keep you updated.

At Children with Cancer UK we actively raise and invest money for vital specialist research to save the lives of every child with cancer and keep their family together.

Our vision is a world where every child diagnosed with cancer gets to ring their end of cancer treatment bell.
