Story
Friends of the Loyne supports the work of The Loyne Specialist School in Lancaster. It is a special school for pupils aged 2-19 with a range of learning difficulties.
The pupils and students greatly benefit from the work that the Friends of the Loyne undertake in fundraising for the school and provision for our pupils and students.
We are constantly fundraising to be able to provide additional resources or undertake works that make a positive difference to our pupils and enrich the quality of their lives at school.
Our pupils and students really enjoy being outdoors and thrive from sensory experiences. We have recently acquired land from a neighbouring school which will allow us to extend our currently, very small, play areas. The money that has been so kindly donated will go towards the cost of redeveloping the land, creating a brand new and exciting inclusive learning space for our pupils to explore and enjoy as well as aiding their sensory and physical development.
In addition to larger projects, we also support smaller projects within the school whereby resources benefit our pupils and students. This may be anything from providing our new starters with a book bag and additional resources which may be required in class, to supporting access to cultural experiences both in school, with visiting artists and practitioners, to exciting off site experiences. The full range of these cultural experiences are only possible through fundraising provided by The Friends.
All these experiences and benefits would not be possible without the support of kind donations.
