Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
My brother Paul, my niece Daisy and I are going to attempt the 48.1 miles in a day Itex walk around the coast of Jersey. Why? Well, it has been 10 years since our dear Mum passed away from Leukaemia. When our nearest and dearest pass, we all make lots of promises; most of them we keep, particularly the most important ones, but it is all to easy to get wrapped up in our very hectic lives of jobs, children and all the other stuff that life throws at you. Before you know it some of those good intentions fade, just a little, and they become just a tad more difficult to fulfill. Well, not this year; this year we break out the neoprene for the knees, the walking poles, energy drinks, sunscreen and support underwear and we are going to try and raise a decent amount of money by walking 48.1 miles around the coast of Jersey in a day, for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research ....they do wonderful, inspiring work and with a little help, who knows maybe they will just crack these nightmare diseases. Others may well join us for bits of the walk (Dad and Henry) and Daisy (an Itex veteran) says that there is no way she is going to wait for the old giffers and she's not a hanger on; more of a dragger rounder apparently! Of course, Mum will be watching from above, and taking names of those who do not donate....you have been warned. And as she so often (and wisely) said...It's always fun until somebody loses an eye/it'll end in tears, and they wont be mine* delete as you feel is most applicable! Huge thanks for your support in what for what is a hugely important charity.
